CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Clint Dolezel tossed eight touchdown passes Saturday, half of which went to Will Pettis, to help the Dallas Desperados clinch a playoff spot with 68-52 win over the Cleveland Gladiators.
Dolezel went 28-of-38 for 252 yards for the Desperados (11-2), who look to avenge one of their two losses next week when they meet the Philadelphia Soul (10-3).
Six days after becoming the first player in league history to score four touchdowns in four different ways, Pettis visited the end zone six more times on Saturday. He made four receptions for TDs, ran in for a score and passed for another.
Raymond Philyaw finished 24-of-35 for 291 yards and four TDs for the Gladiators (7-6), who dropped their second straight game.
