Bombers re-sign three players
Dec 21, 2012 - 5:51 PM Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed quarterback Justin Goltz and running backs Chris Garrett and Carl Volny on Friday.All three players were set to become free agents in February.
Goltz appeared in just two games this season and completed 4-of-8 passes for 39 yards. He has completed 7-of-14 passes for 75 yards and one touchdown in his 3-year career.
Garrett missed all of last season with a torn Achilles tendon. He racked up 576 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 92 carries through six games for Winnipeg in 2011.
Volny has recorded 34 carries for 155 yards and four receptions for 32 yards in two seasons for the Bombers after the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2011 draft.
