Bombers sign Muamba away from BC
Feb 19, 2013 - 10:04 PM Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers inked free agent safety Cauchy Muamba on Tuesday.Per club policy, terms were not disclosed.
"We are very pleased to lock up a Canadian player with Cauchy's ability and potential," said Winnipeg vice president and general manager Joe Mack."We feel he will add immediate depth to our roster and also an added locker-room presence, with his brother Henoc already in our organization and a big part of our defense."
The 25-year-old native of the Congo, who was a fifth-round pick of the B.C. Lions in 2010, posted 50 tackles and two interceptions in 17 games last season for the Leos.
