Blue Bombers ink WR Edwards to contract extension
Mar 8, 2013 - 4:51 PM Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Friday that they have extended the contract of veteran wide receiver Terrence Edwards.Edwards is coming off his third straight 1,000-yard season. He caught 70 passes for 1,049 yards and four touchdowns in 2012.
"Terrence is a valuable piece of our offense and has shown no signs of slowing down over the past few seasons," said Winnipeg general manager Joe Mack in a statement. "Not only is he still able to produce big numbers on the field but his leadership in the locker room is immeasurable and he has been a great tutor for our young receivers."
A two-time CFL All-Star, Edwards ranks fourth in Blue Bombers history with 6,651 receiving yards.
