Bombers release Logan, Elliott
Mar 26, 2013 - 2:40 PM Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released safety Ian Logan and quarterback Joey Elliott.Logan spent seven seasons with Winnipeg after joining the Blue Bombers as an undrafted free agent in 2006 and was a CFL All-Star in 2011. He had a career- high 46 tackles with an interception in 16 games last year.
The 30-year-old Ontario native has 12 career interceptions and 224 tackles.
Elliott saw his most extensive playing time during the 2012 season in his three years with the Bombers. He completed 60.7 percent of his passes for 2,101 yards with five touchdowns and 12 interceptions last year.
The Purdue product had thrown just 45 passes in his first two CFL seasons.
"We would first off like to thank both of these gentlemen for their efforts and dedication to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers," said Bombers general manager Joe Mack. "Difficult decisions in this business are unfortunately part of the job, and we wish the very best to both of these quality individuals."
