Bombers release QB Brink

Apr 8, 2013 - 4:52 PM Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released quarterback Alex Brink on Monday.

Brink signed with Winnipeg in 2010 after two seasons with the Houston Texans' practice squad. He appeared in 26 games over the past three seasons, starting seven, and threw for 2,573 yards with 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

"We would like to thank Alex for his contributions to our football team over the last three seasons," said Bombers general manager Joe Mack. "Unfortunately, we feel as though we need to go in a different direction when it comes to our quarterbacks this season and Alex will not be a part of that equation. We wish him well in his future."

The Bombers added quarterbacks Max Hall and Chase Clement to the roster on Monday.
