Riders acquire McElveen from Hamilton
May 23, 2013 - 6:52 PM Regina, SK (Sports Network) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired defensive lineman Jermaine McElveen from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for wide receiver Lyle Leong Jr.McElveen is entering his sixth season in the Canadian Football League after playing four seasons with the Montreal Alouettes and one season in Hamilton. He led the Tiger-Cats with six sacks last year.
In 68 career games, McElveen has tallied 109 tackles and 24 sacks. He was a member of Montreal's Grey Cup champion teams in 2009 and 2010.
Leong Jr., who played collegiately at Texas Tech, is set to enter his first season in the CFL.
