Blue Bombers sign DE Walls
Jan 28, 2009 - 11:35 PM WINNIPEG, Manitoba (Ticker) -- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Wednesday signed defensive end Gavin Walls to a contract.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Walls recorded a team-high 10 sacks and had 56 tackles last season.
"I'd rather play with Gavin Walls than against him," Winnipeg coach Mike Kelly said. "I'm very impressed with his skill set and energy. He plays the way a Bomber is supposed to play."
The 28-year-old Walls, who has 42 sacks in 69 career games, was named the CFL Rookie of the Year in 2005 and was a divisional All-Star in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
