Blue Bombers re-sign pair
Jan 30, 2009 - 12:17 AM WINNIPEG, Manitoba (Ticker) -- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday re-signed defensive end Shawn Mayne and long snapper Chris Cvetkovic.Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Mayne, 28, recorded eight tackles and one sack in 18 games with the Blue Bombers last season.
"Shawn's motor always runs, and he's a very disciplined player," Winnipeg coach Mike Kelly said. "He can chase people down from behind and provides us with solid minutes as a rotational player."
Cvetkovic, 31, will return for a seventh season with the Blue Bombers.
"Chris was very consistent last season as a long snapper," Kelly said. "He is a core player of our special-teams unit who gives great effort on coverage."
