Encarnacion leads Blue Jays over Orioles

May 13, 2015 - 6:02 AM Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Edwin Encarnacion homered twice to drive in three runs and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 10-2 on Tuesday night.

Josh Donaldson also homered and knocked in three runs and Ryan Goins had three of Toronto's 13 hits.

Mark Buehrle (5-2) was effective in six innings to earn his third win against Baltimore this season. The veteran left-hander allowed two runs on four hits and one walk and had four strikeouts.

"That's a good sign," Jays manager John Gibbons said of Encarnacion's two shots. "That means he's staying on the baseball."

Manny Machado had three of Baltimore's five hits and Chris Tillman (2-5) took the loss after giving up five runs, nine hits and a walk in 6 2/3 innings.

The Orioles won the opener of the three-game series 5-2 on Monday night in their first game in front of fans at Camden Yards since last month's riots.

"We are just making too many errors, plain and simple," Machado said.

The Blue Jays scored four runs in the seventh and eighth innings to put this one away.

After Donaldson hit an RBI single off Tillman in the seventh, one run scored on a passed ball and two came in on Encarnacion's second homer of the game and seventh of the season.

Roberto Osuna threw a 1-2-3 seventh inning after replacing Buehrle and the Blue Jays broke the game open with a rally in the eighth that was capped by Donaldson's blast to make it 10-2.

Buehrle threw just 14 pitches while moving quickly through the first two innings before giving up a leadoff single to J.J. Hardy in the third. Machado hit a two-out double and both runners scored on Jimmy Paredes' single to give the Orioles a 2-0 lead.

Encarnacion drew a walk in the fourth and scored after back-to-back singles by Russell Martin and Chris Colabello to get the Blue Jays within 2-1.

Goins led off the fifth with a single for Toronto and Tillman hit Ezequiel Carrera with one out, but Travis Snyder robbed Jose Bautista of a potential home run with a leaping grab near the left-field wall to end the inning.

Encarnacion homered on Tillman's second pitch in the sixth inning to tie the score at 2-2.
