Blue Jays visit Orioles in clash of division rivals

May 11, 2015 - 2:46 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - A pair of AL East foes tangle Monday night as the Toronto Blue Jays open a three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Blue Jays were aiming for a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox and dropped a 6-3 decision in Sunday's series finale at Rogers Centre.

Chris Colabello recorded three hits and an RBI, while starter R.A. Dickey was knocked around for six runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings for Toronto, which went 4-2 on its homestand.

"The two home runs got him, there's no doubt about it," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said of Dickey.

Toronto will visit Houston for four games on this road trip and will send Marco Estrada to the mound Monday. Estrada is 1-1 with a 2.93 earned run average in seven games (1 start) and will make his first career start against the Orioles.

Estrada has no record and a 4.50 ERA in two relief appearances against Baltimore.

The Orioles went 1-5 on their road trip in the Big Apple against the New York Mets and Yankees, and will start a nine-game homestand Monday versus the Blue Jays, LA Angels and Seattle Mariners.

In Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Yankees in the finale of a four-game set, J.J. Hardy and Adam Jones each had two hits and an RBI for Baltimore, which halted a four-game skid with Saturday's 6-2 decision.

Orioles starter Bud Norris lasted only 3 1/3 innings, permitting four runs, six hits and three walks.

"I've never really pitched like that before, feeling that bad, but you're just trying to get one out at a time and believe me, I was just one pitch away," Norris said. "I thought my stuff was pretty good. It's just really frustrating. That's all I can say."

Yankees starting pitcher Michael Pineda struck out a career-high 16 batters.

Ubaldo Jimenez will take the hill for the Orioles Monday and is 2-2 with a 2.36 earned run average in five starts. Jimenez has dropped two of his last three appearances and allowed three runs in four innings of a 5-1 setback against the New York Mets on May 6.

Jimenez, a right-hander, is 1-1 in two starts against Toronto this season and has a 4-4 mark with a 4.29 ERA in 11 career games (10 starts) in this series.

Baltimore is only 1-5 against Toronto this season.
