"Grit and grind," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "Everybody contributed tonight."
Reggie Jackson tallied 22 points, 11 boards and eight assists for Oklahoma City, which has dropped six consecutive games. Anthony Morrow provided 16 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.
"I thought we did a great job of competing and playing a style that gave us a chance to win," OKC coach Scott Brooks said. "Unfortunately we came up short."
Andre Iguodala's three-point play with 2:22 to play staked the Warriors to an 88-82 advantage before Jackson's layup with 1:25 left cut the gap to 88-84.
Morrow missed a pair of triples and Jackson misfired from beyond the arc in less than a 40-second span, but Serge Ibaka's offensive rebound and dunk whittled the deficit to just two points with 21.4 ticks to play.
Curry then split a pair of foul shots with 16.7 seconds remaining to keep it a one-possession game, but Andre Roberson was off the mark from distance and Thompson sunk two foul shots with 5.7 seconds left to seal it.
Curry netted six quick points as Golden State raced out to a 10-4 lead.
The Warriors led 28-20 after a quarter of play and 52-47 heading into the break before taking a 70-66 margin into the fourth.
