Bryant passed Michael Jordan for third on the NBA's all-time scoring list with 26 points in Sunday's 100-94 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bryant buried the go-ahead 3-pointer with a minute to go in the game and now has 32,310 points, trailing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone in NBA history.
"I'm just honored to be here and still be playing," Bryant said. "Careers don't usually last this long."
Carlos Boozer posted 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Lakers.
After visiting the Pacers, the Lakers will host Oklahoma City on Friday.
Indiana has dropped eight in a row and suffered a 95-85 loss to Portland on Saturday night.
C.J. Watson scored 23 points and Rodney Stuckey posted 14 and 14 rebounds for the Pacers, who shot 38.6 percent from the floor and haven't won since Nov. 28 versus Orlando.
"We have been close in a lot of these games but we gotta keep grinding," Indiana coach Frank Vogel said of the losing streak. "We have to work at it everyday and get better everyday."
The Pacers will start a three-game western trek Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Indiana and Los Angeles will play the first of two meetings this season and will square off again Jan. 4 at Staples Center. The Pacers took both games against the Lakers last season.
