Clippers, Nuggets tip it up in Denver

Los Angeles swept a recent two-game homestand with victories over the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers. The Clippers have dropped two straight on the road.
Blake Griffin had 31 points and 16 rebounds in the Los Angeles Clippers' 102-100 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
Chris Paul added 20 points and nine assists for the Clippers, who have won six in a row at home. J.J. Redick tallied 16 points and DeAndre Jordan contributed 15 points and 23 rebounds.
"We made a lot of bad mistakes down the stretch," said Griffin. "I missed free throws; a lot of things that are uncharacteristic for us. But we got the win. That's all that matters."
The Clippers went 28-of-45 from the foul line, but did overcome a six-point deficit about halfway through the fourth quarter.
The Nuggets have lost three in a row and seven of their last eight. Denver dropped the first two during this homestand, which ends Saturday against Indiana.
On Wednesday, the Nuggets fell at home to the Houston Rockets, 115-111, in overtime.
Denver couldn't handle James Harden, who went for 44 points, including eight in a row in overtime, and a triple-double.
The Nuggets were lucky to get to the extra session. Harden could've put the game out of reach, but missed a late free throw. Out of timeouts, Ty Lawson raced down the floor and handed to Arron Afflalo, who forced OT with a 3-ball as the buzzer went off.
Denver couldn't score with Houston in overtime and went down in defeat.
"I'm proud of the guys and the way they played. So these kinds of losses I can stomach a little bit better," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said.
Wilson Chandler led Denver with 23 points, Afflalo scored 22 and Lawson handed out 16 assists to go along with 12 points.
Danilo Gallinari scored 16 off the bench, followed by 12 from Darrell Arthur and a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds out of Kenneth Faried.
The two squads have split the last 10 meetings, although the Nuggets have won four in a row over the Clippers in Denver.
