Warriors, Lakers complete home-and-home series

Mar 24, 2008 - 1:32 PM LA Lakers (48-22) at Golden State (43-26) 10:30 pm EDT

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - Stephen Jackson and the Golden State Warriors go for their second straight win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.

Jackson hit two 3-pointers in the final 38 seconds on Sunday night as the Warriors posted a 115-111 victory over the Lakers despite nearly blowing a 26-point lead.

Jackson finished with 31 points and Monta Ellis also had 31 points for the Warriors. Baron Davis scored 18 points and Al Harrington added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Golden State (43-26), which remained 1 1/2 games ahead of Denver in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Lakers are battling for the top spot in the West and will be looking to bounce back after having their three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday. Los Angeles is currently percentage points behind the New Orleans Hornets (47-21) for first place in the West.

Kobe Bryant scored 16 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter for Los Angeles but it was not enough. Lamar Odom had 19 points and a career-high 22 rebounds.

Lakers center Pau Gasol missed his fifth straight game with a sprained left ankle, and will not be in the lineup Monday night.

The Warriors have won two straight in the series after a nine-game losing streak to the Lakers.
