Kemp, Nevada aim for third straight win

AKRON, Ohio (Ticker) - Marcelus Kemp and 20th-ranked Nevada goes for their third straight victory on Friday when the Wolf Pack travel to Akron.

Kemp has been sensational for the Wolf Pack lately in leading them to two straight victories.

The junior guard poured in 20 points in a 76-58 triumph over St. Mary's on December 16, then followed with 19 in a 60-53 win over Pacific on Saturday. He scored 14 of his total in the second half as the Wolf Pack erased a four-point halftime deficit.

Nevada's Nick Fazekas, the Western Athletic Conference player of the year the last two seasons, is averaging a team-high 20.6 points and leads the country with 12.8 rebounds per game.

Akron comes off a 79-44 pounding of St. Francis on Tuesday. Dru Joyce led the Zips with 14 points while Quade Milum added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
