Manhattan defeats Marist 72-47

Feb 6, 2010 - 4:31 AM NEW YORK(AP) -- Darryl Crawford scored 20 points and Manhattan used a strong second half to run away from Marist 72-47 on Friday night.

George Beamon and Rico Pickett added 13 points apiece for the Jaspers (8-15, 3-10 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who snapped a seven-game losing slide.

The Jaspers led by seven points at the break, but Manhattan's Laurence Jolicoeur broke the game open early in the second half. The 6-foot-9 center knocked down a jumper, sank a pair of free throws and nailed a 3-pointer in just over a minute, sparking a 12-0 Manhattan run out of halftime.

The Jaspers, who never trailed in this one, outscored the Red Foxes 43-25 in the second half.

Candon Rusin scored 12 points to pace the Red Foxes (1-22, 1-12), who have lost 11 in a row since winning their only game of the season - beating Manhattan 72-66 on Jan. 2.
