Marist hires Maker to replace Bower

Jun 17, 2014 - 7:37 PM Poughkeepsie, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Marist announced Tuesday it has hired Mike Maker to replace Jeff Bower as head men's basketball coach.

Maker comes to the Red Foxes from Division III Williams College, where he was 147-32 in six years as head coach, leading the Ephs to the Final Four three times with two appearances in the national title game.

He replaces Bower, who resigned earlier this month to become general manager of the Detroit Pistons.

Bower was 12-19 with a 9-11 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in one season as Marist's head coach after being hired in April 2013.
