WASHINGTON (Ticker) - No. 20 Xavier attempts to avoid its fourth road loss in five games on Saturday against George Washington.
The Muskeeters (14-4, 2-1 Atlantic 10) are 11-1 at home with an average victory margin of 23.9 points, but are 1-3 on the road. Xavier is coming off a 78-59 road loss on Wednesday to Temple.
"We've got a couple of guys who have got something wrong with them right now," Muskeeters coach Sean Miller said. "We dealt with some things we haven't dealt with all year long."
Senior guard Drew Lavender leads Xavier in scoring at 12.3 points per game, one of six players averaging double figures. The Muskeeters are 12-0 when at least four players score 10 points each.
The Colonials (5-7, 1-1) are coming off a 66-53 loss at Fordham on Wednesday.
Junior forward Rob Diggs averages 12.5 points and 7.8 rebounds to pace George Washington, which has split its last six games.
Xavier has won 10 of the last 12 meetings from George Washington.
