Georgia Tech (15-16) at No. 7 Duke (26-4) 7:00 pm EDT
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - After a one-year hiatus, Duke is hoping to ride a first-round bye all the way to another conference championship.
The seventh-ranked Blue Devils begin their quest for another strong showing on Friday when they meet Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament.
Duke has enjoyed unparalleled success in its conference tournament, especially this decade. Up until last season when they were ousted in the first round by North Carolina State, the Blue Devils had reached the conference tournament finals every season since 1998, winning all but two of those games.
The Blue Devils are coming off a 76-68 home loss to North Carolina on Saturday, a win that snapped a four-game winning streak. Junior guard Greg Paulus scored 15 points in the loss.
Duke will be shooting for its third straight win over Georgia Tech, which hit 13-of-24 from the arc in Thursday's 94-76 victory over Virginia in the first round of the conference tournament. Seniors Jeremis Smith and Anthony Morrow each scored 18 points for the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech is on a three-game winning streak for just the second time this season.
