No. 3 Duke escapes with win over Miami
Jan 31, 2014 - 3:32 AM Coral Gables, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tricia Liston tied a career high with 29 points and No. 3 Duke edged Miami 76-75 in the final seconds Thursday to push its winning streak to 11 games.Elizabeth Williams scored the last of her 18 points making 1-of-2 free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining to give Duke its one-point lead.
Alexis Jones also scored 18 for the Blue Devils (21-1, 8-0 ACC), who remained perfect since their only loss of the season Dec. 17 to Connecticut.
Suriya McGuire had 23 points to lead Miami (11-10, 3-5) and true freshman Adrienne Motley scored 15, her sixth straight game in double figures.
The Hurricanes have lost three in a row, the first two coming on the road against Notre Dame and Clemson. They had tied the game on Maria Brown's foul shots with 14 seconds left.
Duke shot 52.6 percent from the field and extended its road winning streak to nine games.
