Top-ranked UConn defangs Bearcats
Feb 1, 2014 - 11:22 PM Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Bria Hartley led five players in double figures with 17 points, as No. 1 UConn destroyed Cincinnati, 86-29, on Saturday.Moriah Jefferson tallied 13 points with six assists, while both Breanna Stewart and Saniya Chong added 12 apiece for the Huskies (23-0, 10-0 AAC), who led 41-11 at the half and never looked back to record their 10th straight win over Cincinnati.
Jeanise Randolph and Jasmine Whitfield posted eight points apiece for the Bearcats (9-12, 2-8), who were held to 23.9 percent shooting from the field in the setback.
The outcome was effectively sealed with Connecticut's 22-0 run, turning a 17-9 lead into a 39-9 margin with just over a minute left in the opening half.
UConn's lead reached as high as 58 points with 2:10 left in the contest.
