Briody lifts New Mexico over Northern Arizona

Dec 22, 2006 - 7:41 AM ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (Ticker) -- Julie Briody scored 24 points to lead 25th-ranked New Mexico to a 62-51 victory over Northern Arizona.

The Lobos (10-2) decided the issue early by outscoring Northern Arizona, 33-20, in the first half. They shot 11-of-25 from the field (44 percent) and made 10-of-12 free throws.

Briody, who shot 7-of-13 from the field, made all nine of her free-throw attempts and added a 3-pointer.

Dionne Marsh added 12 points for New Mexico while Angela Hartill finished with 10.

Alyssa Wahl led Northern Arizona (7-5) with 15 points while Sade Cunningham finished with 13.
