Miami upsets Washington
Mar 20, 2015 - 9:07 PM Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Adrienne Motley scored 30 points and the 11th-seeded Miami-Florida Hurricanes beat the sixth-seeded Washington Huskies 86-80 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.Jessica Thomas added 19 points and six rebounds for the Hurricanes (20-12), who will play third-seeded Iowa on Sunday. Michelle Woods tallied 17 points.
Talia Walton and Kelsey Plum each scored 17 points for the Huskies (23-10), who made their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2007. Jazmine Davis contributed 16 points.
With the score tied 71-71, Motley made a jumper before Thomas and Woods each made two free throws to put the Hurricanes up six with a minute left.
