Warburton's late 3-pointer lifts Utah over Wyoming
Jan 31, 2008 - 6:27 AM LARAMIE, Wyoming (Ticker) -- Morgan Warburton's 3-pointer with three seconds to play lifted Utah to a dramatic 60-59 victory over No. 16 Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference showdown on Wednesday.With the win, the Utes (17-3, 6-0 MWC) remain the only unbeaten team in the conference and Utah also ended the Cowgirls' (18-2, 6-1) 12-game winning streak.
Utah held a three-point lead late in the contest before Wyoming scored five straight - capped by a free throw by Jodi Bolerjack with 19 seconds to play. But Warburton, who finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, picked up an offensive rebound off a miss from Halie Sawyer and drilled the outside shot, giving Utah its 12th consecutive win.
Aubrey Vandiver had 18 points to lead the Cowgirls, who were outrebounded, 31-18, for the game.
