Bramlet lifts Hamburg into World Bowl
Jun 16, 2007 - 8:23 PM DUSSELDORF, Germany (Ticker) -- The Hamburg Sea Devils have qualified for the World Bowl for the first time.Casey Bramlet passed for 209 yards and a touchdown to lead the Sea Devils to a 17-13 victory over the Rhein Fire on Saturday.
Rhein (4-6) had possession with 1:45 remaining until Hamburg linebacker Barry Robertson recovered a fumble by Sean Mulcahy. After a 29-yard run by Tony Hollins, Hamburg (7-3) was able to run out the clock.
Hollings rushed for 109 yards on 21 carries and Jermaine Allen scored on a two-yard run to give the Sea Devils a 17-10 lead with 3:39 left in the third quarter.
Jacque Lewis' one-yard score gave the Fire a 7-3 advantage early in the second quarter before the Sea Devils took the lead back on Bramlett's 24-yard touchdown pass to Teyo Johnson with just 48 seconds remaining in the half.
