Devils hand Blue Jackets 5th straight loss

Nov 2, 2014 - 3:58 AM Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Henrique and Adam Larsson scored in the third period to lift the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

Marek Zidlicky had a goal with one assist and Cory Schneider registered 32 saves for the Devils, who have won two straight and three of their last four games.

Nick Foligno and Jack Skille lit the lamp for Columbus, which has lost five games in a row. Anton Forsberg gave up three goals on 29 shots in his NHL debut.

"It is a lot of feelings and all that," said Forsberg. "As a little boy this is everybody's dream."

The Devils tied the game at 2-2 on a power play at 8:54 of the third. Zidlicky kept jamming at the puck during a scramble in front of the Columbus net before it came out to Henrique, who found the puck and fired it home.

Larsson gave New Jersey the lead 1:41 later, scoring on a slap shot from the right point.

"(Larsson) has played well when he comes in," Henrique said. "That's all you can really ask. Scoring a big goal like that, the confidence grows."

Columbus went ahead 1-0 on Skille's goal 66 seconds into the contest. Skille buried a cross-ice pass from Brian Gibbons on a 2-on-1.

Zidlicky beat Forsberg from the left circle with a wrist shot on a power play, tying the game at 4:32 of the second period.

The Blue Jackets reclaimed the lead when Foligno tapped in a Jack Johnson pass on a man advantage at 12:30 of the second.
