ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Boston Bruins are enjoying a resurgence this season. The Atlanta Thrashers are searching for an identity.
The Bruins will be shooting for their third straight win when they visit the Thrashers on Wednesday.
Boston finished last in the Northeast Division with 76 points and just 35 wins last season. But the team is turning things around this season and find themselves in second place, just four points back of Ottawa.
Atlanta won the Southeast Division last season but got off to a slow start in 2007-08, dropping their first six games. The team has rebounded to climb back to the .500 mark however.
The Thrashers may find goals hard to come by against Boston netminder Alex Auld, who has allowed just two goals on 71 shots in two wins since arriving in a trade from Phoenix. The Bruins were forced to make the trade after starter Tim Thomas went down with a groin injury last week.
Auld with be charged with stopping Atlanta left wing Ilya Kovalchuk, who leads the NHL with 23 goals.
