Edmonton (1-0-0) at Anaheim (0-3-0) 10:00 p.m. EDT
ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks still are searching for their first win of the season. If they cannot turn around their recent struggles against the Edmonton Oilers, they may have to wait longer.
The Ducks try to end their season-opening three-game slide Wednesday, when they host the Oilers at the Honda Center.
Anaheim suffered its worst loss of the campaign on Tuesday. Despite surging to an early two-goal lead, the Ducks dropped a 6-3 decision to the Los Angeles Kings, who finished tied for last in the NHL with 71 points last season.
Anaheim needs to rebound quickly if it wants to end its futility against Edmonton, which is 8-3-1 over the last three seasons against the Ducks. That mark does not include the Oilers' four-games-to-one triumph over the Ducks in the 2006 Western Conference finals.
The Oilers, who are looking to return to the playoffs after a two-year absence, won three of their four meetings with the Ducks in 2007-08 and earned a 4-0 victory in their last visit to the Honda Center on December 2.
Former Duck Dustin Penner starred for Edmonton in its season-opening 3-2 victory over Colorado on Sunday, scoring a pair of goals - including the game-winner.
