Nashville (11-10-2) at Buffalo (11-9-3) 7:00 p.m. EST
BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabers were the hottest team in the NHL at the beginning of the season. A lot has changed since.
The Sabers will be looking to bounce back from another loss when they host the Nashville Predators on Monday.
After beginning the season 6-0-2 in its first eight games, Buffalo is 2-6-0 in its last eight games.
Defense has been the problem of late, as the Sabers have allowed an average of 4.66 goals during their last six losses. Top goaltender Ryan Miller has been part of the problem, allowing an average of four goals in his last six losses.
Patrick Lalime got the start in net at Montreal on Saturday and allowed three goals on 34 shots to suffer the loss. He has not presided over a win since October 13 - a span of six games.
The Predators are coming off a 6-2 loss at Minnesota on Saturday. Nashville took 15 penalties in the game and allowed five of the six goals on the power play.
Nashville's 80 percent penalty kill is the third-worst mark in the Western Conference.
