Lynx continue dominance over Shock
Jul 12, 2012 - 7:28 PM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Maya Moore collected 28 points and 11 rebounds as the Minnesota Lynx continued their dominance over the Tulsa Shock with a 89-74 victory on Thursday.It was Minnesota's ninth straight win over Tulsa, including a 107-86 decision on Tuesday.
Seimone Augustus and Monica Wright added 14 points apiece for the Lynx, while Lindsay Whalen finished with 11 points and eight assists.
Taj McWilliams-Franklin contributed eight points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Glory Johnson had game-highs of 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Shock, who lost for the sixth time in eight games.
Minnesota held a 22-21 edge entering the second quarter after Tulsa battled back from a nine-point deficit and it remained a one-possession game over the opening minutes of the second.
But following a Johnson layup that gave the Shock a 31-30 lead almost three minutes into the quarter, the Lynx closed out the half with a 25-7 run behind 17 points from Moore to take a 55-38 advantage in the break.
Tulsa never threatened in the second half, trailing by as much as 28 points as the Lynx cruised to the win.
