Robinson, Stars edge Shock
Jul 23, 2014 - 2:36 AM San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Danielle Robinson's layup with 3.5 seconds remaining gave the San Antonio Stars a 95-93 win over the Tulsa Shock on Tuesday.Odyssey Sims' running jumper capped a 7-0 Tulsa run to tie the game at 91-91 with 1:19 to go. Danielle Adams drained a pair of free throws with 39.1 seconds left, but Sims evened the score again with a layup with 21.6 showing on the clock. Robinson's driving layup put San Antonio ahead and Sophia Young- Malcolm's steal sealed the win.
Kayla McBride led the Stars with 26 points and Robinson finished with 21 points, seven assists and five rebounds for San Antonio, which snapped a three-game skid.
Sims scored a career-high 39 points and Skylar Diggins also set a career-best in points with 34 for the Shock, who have lost six of their last seven.
Diggins scored nine straight points and 12 overall in the opening quarter to help stake the Shock to a 22-12 advantage.
San Antonio fired back with seven straight points to open the second quarter and went ahead 32-30 on Robinson's pullup jumper with 2:38 left in the half. The Stars took a 37-34 lead into the break.
Tulsa tied the game twice during the third and again early in the fourth at 66-66 on Jordan Hooper's 3-pointer less than a minute into the frame.
