Sims guides Shock over Storm
Jul 30, 2014 - 3:23 AM Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Odyssey Sims totaled a game-best 21 points, with Glory Johnson added 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds to lead Tulsa past Seattle, 80-74, on Tuesday.Roneeka Hodges scored 16 points and Skylar Diggins contributed 11 for the Shock, who have won two in a row and three of five. Diggins ended up setting a new franchise single-season points record with 564, passing the mark originally set by Deanna Nolan in 2009.
Sue Bird totaled 15 points and Tanisha Wright posted 14 for the Storm, who received 13 points each in defeat from Camille Little and Crystal Langhorne.
Bird's triple with 2:50 remaining pulled the Storm within 71-68, but Sims sank two from the line on the next trip down the floor and Temeka Johnson split her two tries for a 74-68 game with 1:22 on the clock.
Inside of a minute to play, Vicki Baugh's reverse layup and a Sims free throw extended Tulsa's advantage to 77-70 and the visitors couldn't make up the difference.
Seattle has dropped six games in succession.
