Crows well-versed for Tiger star Martin
Sep 28, 2017 - 5:32 PM Patrick Dangerfield has left Adelaide well-prepared to tackle Richmond linchpin Dustin Martin in the AFL grand final, Crows assistant Scott Camporeale says.Adelaide believe the experience of nullifying Geelong ace Dangerfield in their preliminary final last weekend is perfect schooling for countering Martin in Saturday's premiership decider.
Dangerfield presents the same problem to Adelaide as new Brownlow medallist Martin: a match-winning midfielder who doubles as an attacking threat.
"He is obviously a talented player, you don't win the Brownlow medal by not playing really good footy," Camporeale said.
"What he can do through the middle, and obviously hit the scoreboard, is no different to Dangerfield.
"We think we have got the match-up through the middle of the ground, we think we have got the match-ups when he goes forward as well."
The Crows will hold a training session at the MCG on Friday which is closed to spectators. An estimated 30,000 Adelaide fans are trekking across the Victorian border to attend Saturday's finale.
In contrast, Richmond players will train before their army of fans at Punt Road on Friday morning.
Both sides have named unchanged sides and Camporeale said Adelaide's lead-in to the grand final had been faultless.
"We have told the players to embrace the week," he said.
"These guys have worked bloody hard since November last year to get the opportunity - and they have got to enjoy the week as well.
"Hopefully by the time Saturday night comes around, they''ll be able to reflect and say they enjoyed the week and enjoyed the experience and they got the ultimate success."
