Hastings to lead Stars for Big Bash League
Aug 31, 2017 - 4:56 AM Bowler John Hastings has replaced the retired David Hussey as the new skipper of the Melbourne Stars for the next edition of the Big Bash League.Having been with the club since its inception, Hastings is the Stars' leading wicket-taker, claiming 40 across 28 matches.
The 31-year-old Australian representative said he was thrilled to take over the captaincy.
"I'm very honoured to be the captain of the Melbourne Stars," Hastings said.
"I can't wait to pull the green shirt back on this summer and lead the team."
The Stars will open their BBL campaign against the Brisbane Heat on December 20 at the Gabba.
