Sydney Thunder sign Ferguson for BBL
Nov 21, 2017 - 10:52 PM Former Australia international batsman Callum Ferguson will play for the Sydney Thunder in this summer's Big Bash League after joining them on a three-year deal.Ferguson, who played one Test for Australia last year, strengthens the Thunder's top order alongside Usman Khawaja and Shane Watson.
The South Australian, who turned 33 on Tuesday, has started the Sheffield Shield season in fine form with 182 against Victoria earlier this month and a half century against Western Australia last week.
"After my last knee injury (in 2015/16), it still feels like I'm on the comeback trail, despite being back playing for a while," Ferguson said.
"I'm enjoying being back out playing and I'm really excited about the opportunity to join a new club, I love T20 cricket and I can't wait for the season."
Ferguson has scored 610 runs at 21.03 in five Big Bash seasons and played 30 ODIs for Australia and three Twenty20s.
