Stricker, O'Hair win the PGA's team event

Dec 10, 2017 - 9:38 PM Sean O'Hair has made eagle on the par-5 17th hole and teamed with Steve Stricker for an eight under 64 to win the PGA's Greg Norman-hosted Shootout event.

The American pair finished at 26-under par to edge out their co-overnight leaders Graeme McDowell and Shane Lowry by two shots.

O'Hair and Stricker had a one-shot lead playing the 17th hole in the better-ball format at Tiburon Golf Club in Florida.

O'Hair sealed the victory with an approach that settled 12 feet away for eagle.

Republic of Ireland's Lowry and Northern Irishman McDowell each came up short and had to settle for par, falling three shots behind.

McDowell birdied the 18th as the duo carded a 66 to finish two shots ahead of the third-placed team of Pat Perez and Brian Harman.

It was the second time O'Hair and Stricker have won the 12-team team's tournament but the first as partners. Stricker won in 2009 with Jerry Kelly, while O'Hair won in 2012 with Kenny Perry.
