Final
Livingston, Clippers down Trail Blazers
Oct 26, 2006 - 5:27 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Shaun Livingston took advantage of a rare start.Livingston had 15 points and 10 assists and Elton Brand scored 20 as the Los Angeles Clippers posted a 97-89 preseason victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
After a stellar performance in last year's postseason, Livingston is one of the brightest young point guards in the league. However, he is stuck behind veteran Sam Cassell.
On Wednesday, Livingston started and shot 5-of-9 from the field and added four steals in 35 minutes.
Brand, a MVP candidate in 2005-06, was 9-of-15 with two rebounds and two assists for the Clippers, who shot 51 percent (39-of-76).
Tim Thomas, who signed with Los Angeles as a free agent in the offseason, did not play after undergoing a gum procedure.
Zach Randolph netted 33 points and Corey Maggette added 18 for the Blazers, who shot a blistering 60 percent (28-of-47) but turned the ball over 32 times.
No one has shouted yet.
