Robinson scores 20 to lead Knicks over Sixers

Oct 25, 2007 - 2:31 AM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Nate Robinson scored all 20 of his points in the second half to lead the New York Knicks to a 103-90 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Newcomer Zach Randolph added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who improved their preseason record to 3-2. They conclude their preseason slate against the New Jersey Nets here on Friday.

Robinson, who will be fighting for time in the backcourt this season with Stephon Marbury and Jamal Crawford, shot 8-of-10 from the field and gave New York its biggest lead of the night with a 3-pointer that made it 96-76 with 5:32 left in the game.

The Knicks went into halftime with a 50-44 advantage on the strength of a huge second quarter from swingman Fred Jones. The 28-year-old, who came over from Portland in the draft-night trade that also netted the team Randolph, scored all 16 of his points in the period, going 5-for-5 from the field and knocking down a pair of 3-pointers.

Veteran point guard Andre Miller paced the Sixers with 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Andre Iguodala scored 12 points, but shot just 3-of-13 from the field for Philadelphia, which fell to 1-5 in the preseason.

New York took advantage of the absence of Sixers center Samuel Dalembert, who is out with a stress fracture in his left foot, winning the rebounding battle, 43-34.
