Armstrong's effort sends Hornets to win in preseason finale

Oct 27, 2007 - 2:37 AM WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Hilton Armstrong scored 23 points to lead the New Orleans Hornets past the Charlotte Bobcats, 111-100, in the preseason finale for both teams on Friday night.

Peja Stojakovic added 22 points and Chris Paul collected 14 and 13 assists to help the Hornets match their exhibition-high point total. Paul was making his first appearance at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum since starring for Wake Forest from 2003-2005.

Only David West and Tyson Chandler sat out for the Hornets, who kick off their regular season on Wednesday when they host the Sacramento Kings.

Raymond Felton scored 24 points and Jason Richardson added 22 for the Bobcats, who closed out their preseason with a 2-6 mark. Charlotte will host the Milwaukee Bucks next Friday to open up its regular-season schedule.
