WVU's Bryant has surgery on foot
Apr 7, 2010 - 10:26 PM MORGANTOWN, W.Va.(AP) -- West Virginia guard Darryl "Truck" Bryant has undergone surgery to repair a fractured right foot.WVU basketball spokesman Bryan Messerly says the surgery was performed Wednesday on Bryant's fifth metatarsal at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Randy Meador, WVU's coordinator of athletic training services, says Bryant's recovery time will be two to three months.
Bryant broke his foot in practice after the NCAA tournament's second round and flew to North Carolina to get fitted for a special insert for his shoe. But he didn't play again.
A sophomore, Bryant averaged 9.3 points and started 31 games this season. He was second in team assists with 108 assists.
