Siena hires Patsos as new head coach
Apr 3, 2013 - 8:12 PM Loudonville, NY (Sports Network) - Siena named Jimmy Patsos its next men's basketball coach on Wednesday.Patsos comes to Siena after nine seasons with Loyola-Maryland, where his teams went 145-135, which included an 11-9 mark against Sienna. An appearance last year in the NCAA Tournament saw the team lose in the second round to Ohio State, but it was the school's first appearance in the tournament in 18 years.
"I'm really grateful and feel really lucky to be here," said Patsos. "We're going to build a great program here and I can't wait to get to work."
Patsos replaces Mitch Buonaguro, who was fired in March after the team went 35-39 during his three seasons with the Saints.
