Stanford F Brown out for the year
Jul 25, 2013 - 4:28 AM Palo Alto, CA (Sports Network) - Senior forward Andy Brown will miss the 2013-14 campaign due to an ACL tear in his right knee.Brown sustained the injury on Tuesday morning in a team workout.
It?s the fourth ACL tear of Brown?s career, three of which he has suffered since arriving in Palo Alto back in the fall of 2009. Brown finally made his highly-anticipated Stanford debut during the 2011-12 campaign, helping guide the Cardinal to its Postseason NIT championship.
"Everyone associated with our program is saddened by Andy?s latest injury," said Stanford men's basketball coach Johnny Dawkins. "Nobody has worked harder to get back into playing shape, having already experienced three tears and waiting two full years before putting on a uniform," said Dawkins.
Appearing in 42 career games while making 20 starts, Brown averaged 5.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the field.
