Northern Illinois extends Montgomery through 2018
Apr 19, 2014 - 1:35 AM DeKalb, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Northern Illinois University rewarded men's head basketball coach Mark Montgomery with a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2017-18 season.This past season, Montgomery led the Huskies to their largest single-season win turnaround in program history with a 15-17 overall record, a 10-win improvement from 2012-13.
"We made many positive strides this past season and I am excited about the future of NIU basketball," Montgomery said. "We look forward to raising the bar and reaching new heights in years to come."
Montgomery has a 25-68 record during his three seasons as head coach.
