Dayton extends Archie Miller's contract through 2021-22

Mar 26, 2015 - 9:39 PM Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Dayton men's basketball coach Archie Miller has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him with the school through the 2021-22 season.

It's the second year in a row that Miller has received an improved deal. After he led the Flyers to their first Sweet 16 appearance in 30 years and an Elite Eight appearance last season, they extended his deal through the 2018-19 season.

The Flyers lost to Oklahoma in the third round of this year's tournament. Dayton is one of six schools to have five NCAA Tournament wins in the last two seasons, joining traditional powers Arizona, UConn, Kentucky, Michigan State and Wisconsin.

"The University of Dayton is a special place. We have everything we need to be among the best," Miller said. "My family and I love being here and we are very appreciative of all the support that's come our way since we arrived four years ago.

"I'm excited about our future and look forward to trying to do more special things for our school, our community, and perhaps most importantly, our loyal fans."

Miller has a record of 90-47 in four years at Dayton, including 27-9 this season.

The 36-year-old Miller is the younger brother of Arizona head coach Sean Miller. Archie spent two years on his brother's staff with the Wildcats before taking the job at Dayton and also held assistant coaching positions at Ohio State, Arizona State and North Carolina State.
