Auburn freshman guard Bryce Brown suspended for opener

(AP) Auburn freshman guard Bryce Brown has been suspended for the season opener by the NCAA.Auburn announced Thursday that he will be forced to sit out Friday night's game against UAB. Tigers coach Bruce Pearl says the one-game suspension stemmed from Brown playing a game in a second summer league.
Auburn says Brown was watching a summer league game in Atlanta when one of the teams was short-handed. Brown knew the coach, who asked him to play.
Brown had previously played in a Birmingham, Alabama summer league.
