Bethune-Cookman beats Trinity Baptist 108-54 in opener

(AP) Mario Moody scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Bethune-Cookman rolled over Trinity Baptist 108-54 in a season opener on Friday night.Moody, a transfer from Wagner, was one of six Wildcats in double figures. Quinton Forrest scored 18, Ricky Johnson and Jordan Potts 14 apiece, Marquel Ingram 12 and Laron Smith 10. Bethune-Cookman shot 61 percent from the floor, including 12 of 28 from the 3-point line.
Dante Mitchell scored 16 for Trinity Baptist - the only player to reach double digits.
Bethune-Cookman had 18 steals and 26 assists on 41 field goals. Trinity Baptist turned the ball over 26 times.
The Wildcats - 11-21 last season - led 54-24 by halftime and opened the second half with an 18-6 run, pushing the lead to 40.
