Texas Tech scores 167 in rout of East Central

Nov 21, 2008 - 4:28 AM LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- Thursday's performance by Texas Tech's basketball team was enough to make the potent Red Raiders' football team blush.

The Red Raiders defeated East Central University, 167-116, scoring 90 points in the second half.

Pat Knight's squad shot 59.3 percent (67-of-113) from the field, making 13-of-25 shots from beyond the arc.

The Red Raiders, who held a 77-57 lead at intermission, had 10 players in double figures. They were led by Trevor Cook, who scored 20 points, and Alan Voskuil and John Roberson, who each added 17.

The previous school record for points was 128, set in a double-overtime win over Texas in 1994.

East Central, which had seven players in double figures, was led by Dontae Figgs' 19 points.
