Earl Clark Bio
May 15, 2009 - 11:10 PM By MATT BEARDMORE STATS Writer=NAME: Earl Clark
SCHOOL: Louisville
POSITION: Forward
HEIGHT: 6-foot-9
WEIGHT: 225 pounds
SCOUTING REPORT: Clark's numbers weren't eye-popping in his three seasons with the Cardinals, but for a player his size, the 6-foot-9 forward has a unique ability to either step back and hit from long distance or drive the ball to the basket - a combination of skills every NBA GM would like to have on their roster. Coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged a relatively modest 11.1 points and shot just 22.7 percent from 3-point range, Clark scored a team-best 14.2 points per game while hitting 32.6 percent of his 3-point attempts in 2008-09 as Louisville advanced to the Midwest regional final versus Michigan State. The 21-year-old New Jersey native prides himself on his rebounding - he grabbed 8.4 per game in his final two seasons - but he needs to take better care of the basketball. Clark, a third-team All-Big East pick his junior season, committed as many turnovers (119) in 2008-09 as he handed out assists. His 64.0 percent career free throw shooting is also a concern, but expect Clark to be a top 10 pick at the June 25 draft.
