Toliver's double-double leads Maryland in opener

Nov 10, 2007 - 2:50 AM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Kristi Toliver led four players in double figures with 16 points and added a game-high 10 assists as No. 4 Maryland defeated Princeton, 76-52, Friday in the first round of the Preseason WNIT.

Marissa Coleman had 14 points, eight rebounds and a pair of steals as the Terrapins (1-0) won their 10th consecutive season opener. It was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

Jade Perry had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Maryland, which shot 55.6 percent from the field (15-for-27) to take a 39-29 lead at halftime. Laura Harper added 12 points for the Terrapins.

Whitney Downs scored 14 points and Meagan Cowher added 13 for the Tigers (0-1), playing their first game under former Dartmouth assistant coach Courtney Banghart.
